Featured Instrument - The Whammy

This one came out even better than I had planned! With the worn out metal box along with the shinny chrome parts for me its the right mix of rough but still clean style, the look I'm always trying to pull off with all the instruments.

All these parts kind of came together out of nowhere. The neck, pickup and volume/tone knobs were originally made for another ammo box guitar. Which was going to have a tremolo tail piece and bridge from an old Japanese Teisco guitar, but the ammo box was too short. Thats when this long metal box was found and it was a perfect fit!

This one is sold but you can still check it out on Etsy!

The good ole ukulele! This is where I started building instruments.
My old cigar box ukes weren't as nice as and playable as they are now though.
The ukulele size works well for cigar boxes and when you pick the right box the tone and volume is great!

Just recently I ventured into the world of solder, wires and magnets! And metal...lots of metal. The first electric was my now most popular original design
The Ammo Box Electric, made from a military ammo box.

Building instruments out of unordinary objects takes things in many directions and different types of instruments. From thumb pianos to very unique animal skull stringed instruments. The challenge of making these out of unusual objects is getting the neck to fit properly and fit well with the object.

Musical instruments can be made out of anything!
I am available to work on any custom designs.
Or I can customize models I already make.
